As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving (Colossians 2:6-7).
A setback is a single event or specific series of events that impedes our forward progress. It can be a one-time, one-of-a-kind occurrence that may leave us wondering why we are doing what we are doing. This event hasn’t exactly defeated us, but it causes us to pull back and regroup.
Whenever we make a commitment to the Lord, or want to move forward in life we must be prepared to face the enemy’s unrelenting attempt to set us back.
It’s not God’s intent for anyone to live their lives by lucky breaks. Hoping that by chance something good and wonderful will just come our way. God has a purpose for every life born into this world. There is no one able to stop the purposes and plan of God for your life.
God’s plan cannot be stopped by what we call bad breaks; all the forces of darkness can’t keep you from what God has planned for you. Many times, we don’t reach our destination or achieve our goals because we gave up too soon or got too entangled with the things of this world.
Some mistakes have greater consequences than others, and decisions we make lead to certain destinations. But God is a redeemer of our mistakes. He is able to bring us back on the right path to get to His desired destination for us.
